India, July 31 -- The flood situation in the Mahanadi River across Odisha's Boudh district is gradually improving as the water levels remain below the danger mark. As of 8 pm on Thursday, the river's water level near the Boudh Irrigation I.B. was recorded at 86.98 metres with a discharge of 7,64,633 cusecs flowing per second.

Despite receding water levels, over 10 villages in Harabhanga block remain cut off from the outside world. Riverine settlements including Jharasai, Shyamsundarpur, Karodi, Marada, Kudasinga, Dhalpur, and Khandidhalpur continue to be surrounded by floodwaters.
