Bhubaneswar, June 5 -- The theft of gold jewellery from Lord Dadhibaman's temple at Garjan village in Bolangir district, Odisha has taken a fresh turn, with villagers alleging that the stolen ornaments were recovered from a goldsmith's shop but no action was taken against the jeweller.

Police had earlier arrested a juvenile in connection with the theft and claimed to have recovered the stolen ornaments. However, locals now allege that the recovery was shown from a different location and that the actual facts have been concealed.

Budhu Rana, a ward member and witness in the case, claimed that the juvenile had admitted to stealing the ornaments and handing them over to a goldsmith.
