Bhubaneswar, June 9 -- Bolangir Town Police seized the speeding truck allegedly involved in the fatal road accident that claimed the lives of a mother and daughter in the town on Tuesday and arrested its driver. The development comes few hours after the tragic incident near Gandhinagar Pada that had sparked widespread grief among local residents.

The victims were identified as Sunita Nag and her daughter Shruti of Talapalipada. According to police, Shruti was riding a scooter and taking her mother to work in the morning at a nursing home when the speeding truck allegedly hit their vehicle. Both sustained fatal injuries and died in the accident.
