Bhubaneswar, Aug. 27 -- Bolangir Police on Wednesday seized around 5 kg of gold and silver from Kharajoda village in Kalyansinghpur of Rayagada district in connection with the armed robbery reported in Sindhekela on August 23.

Two people have been detained and were being questioned at the time of reporting. Some other suspects are reportedly absconding.

The seizure was made during a raid conducted by a Bolangir Police team at Kharajoda in connection with various theft cases. Police were checking whether the recovered valuables are linked to the Sindhekela robbery.

According to reports, local trader Phulchand Jain's house was allegedly looted. Jain also operated his jewellery shop from a section of his residence.
