BMC warns fuel rationing could affect waste collection in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, June 16 -- The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has urged oil marketing companies and the Odisha government to exempt it from the Centre's fuel rationing guidelines, warning that restrictions on diesel supply could severely affect sanitation and waste management services in the city.
The civic body has expressed concern over the Centre's cap of 200 litres of fuel per day under austerity measures, stating that its daily requirement is nearly 2,000 litres. Officials fear the restriction could drastically reduce operational capacity and affect essential municipal services.
