Bhubaneswar, April 29 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI), seeking urgent action against Mahua Moitra, the Member of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), for allegedly intimidating an Odisha police officer who was serving as a poll observer in West Bengal during the ongoing state elections.
The BJP's complaint centers on a video posted by Moitra on social media platforms, including X and Facebook, on April 27-28. In the video, the TMC MP allegedly made threatening comments aimed at Battula Gangadhar, a 2011-batch IPS officer from the Odisha cadre.
