Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- A fresh political storm has erupted in Odisha after BJP MP Pradeep Purohit claimed that a major faction of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is likely to break away and join the NDA. According to him, the process has already begun and the political picture will become clear within the next two months.

Purohit made a sensational claim that the BJD could face a situation similar to that of All India Trinamool Congress and Shiv Sena alleging that a large group within the party may either 'hijack' the BJD and align with the NDA or split the party to form another BJP-supported organisation.
