Bhubaneswar, April 18 -- Internal divisions within the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) surfaced in Odisha's Nimapada after two factions organised separate programmes to mark the death anniversary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik on April 17.
The parallel events in Gop block highlighted a growing disconnect among local leaders, even as both groups claimed to uphold the legacy of the veteran leader.
Supporters of Dillip Nayak organised a tribute meeting at his native village, Chakaroda, led by Gop block chairperson Jhunu Mallick, along with party workers. The programme witnessed participation from Nayak's loyalists, who asserted that he continues to remain the central figure of the party in the constituency.
