Bhubaneswar, May 2 -- BJD president Naveen Patnaik has written to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman seeking immediate intervention in the Jitu Munda incident, which has drawn widespread attention.
In his letter, Patnaik referred to the Malliposi branch of Odisha Gramya Bank in Keonjhar district and called for fixing responsibility for what he described as a serious lapse.
In the communication, he urged that accountability be established at the earliest and stressed the need for reforms to ensure citizen-centric service delivery in rural banking institutions. He also highlighted the importance of making banking services more accessible, particularly in remote areas.
