Bhubaneswar, Feb. 28 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Saturday officially announced its two candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.

BJD President and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared that Santrupt Misra and Dr. Datteswar Hota will represent the party in the upper house of Parliament.

Santrupt Misra, a senior BJD leader from Cuttack, had previously contested for a parliamentary seat and is now set to represent the party in the Rajya Sabha. Dr. Datteswar Hota, a distinguished urologist, has also been nominated, reflecting the party's choice to bring both political experience and professional expertise to the national legislature.
