Bhubaneswar, April 24 -- Odisha Cabinet sanctioned the Odisha City Gas Distribution (CGD) Policy, a comprehensive framework designed to accelerate the expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure. 

By streamlining multi-agency approvals and resolving long-standing regulatory bottlenecks, the state government aims to foster a sustainable energy ecosystem in line with national environmental objectives.

To encourage rapid private sector investment, the policy introduces a one-time moratorium on approval fees for projects initiated before March 2027. This initiative is expected to enhance energy security and improve the quality of life without imposing any financial burden on the state exchequer....
