Bhubaneswar, Sept. 3 -- Researchers at the National Institute of TechnologyRourkela (NIT Rourkela) have developed and patented a hybrid energy storage system designed to improve the efficiency and extend the lifespan of batteries used in electric vehicles.

The system is designed to handle sudden changes in power demand, such as those experienced during rapid acceleration, braking and changes in vehicle speed, while reducing the stress placed on the main battery.
