Bhubaneswar, Aug. 6 -- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)Bhubaneswar signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Banashree Semiconductors to advance joint research, industry-focused education, and innovation in chip design.

An official statement issued by the institute on Wednesday noted that the partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial semiconductor needs, as reported by the Times Of India.

Banashree Semiconductors specialises in advanced silicon-node technologies, low-power chip design, and power, performance, and area optimisation, reportedly. The firm places particular emphasis on reduced transistor-count architectures for system-on-chip applications.
