Bhubaneswar, July 5 -- Continuous rainfall driven by an active, well-marked low-pressure area caused widespread disruptions across Odisha. Bhubaneswar recorded 112.3 mm of rainfall within a 24-hour window.

Several low-lying areas witnessed massive waterlogging due to the persistent rain continuing for the past two days. Bhubaneswar administration formed special emergency team in view of the current weather.

Multiple coastal and interior belts experienced similar waterlogging situation dut to the low-pressure induced heavy rainfall. While Bhubaneswar crossed the 100 mm threshold to register the highest localised volume at 112.3 mm, other areas also recorded notable figures.
