Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- The Commissionerate Police arrested an alleged fraudster accused of cheating a woman of Rs 55 lakh on the promise of providing her land in Bhubaneswar.

The accused has been identified as Priyabrata Mohanty. He was arrested by Pahala police on Thursday following the woman's complaint.

According to reports, Mohanty was absconding for a long time. He was also accused of taking cars on rent from various agencies and selling them. Police said that several fraud cases were registered against Mohanty at different police stations. They also described him as a professional fraudster.
