Bhubaneswar, Sept. 25 -- 2015-batch IPS officer Dr Saravana Vivek M on Friday took charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bhubaneswar.

Vivek, who was serving as the Superintendent of Police of Berhampur, was appointed to the post by the Odisha government on September 22 as part of a four-officer IPS reshuffle. He succeeds Jagmohan Meena, whose resignation from government service was accepted by the Centre with effect from September 11.

With Vivek assuming charge, the Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police now has a new DCP following Meena's exit.
