Bhubaneswar airport's next big leap: AAI seeks approval for Rs 1,200-crore new terminal
India, Aug. 24 -- Airports Authority of India (AAI) submitted a proposal to the Union Finance Ministry's Public Investment Board (PIB) seeking approval for a new Terminal 3 (T3) at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar. The proposed terminal is estimated to cost more than Rs 1,200 crore.
According to The Times Of India, once the PIB approves the proposal, BPIA will be able to float a tender for the project. The new terminal is planned to handle both domestic and international arrivals and departures under one roof and will have the capacity to handle 8.6 million passengers per annum.
