Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- Baranga Tehsildar Tushar Jyotiranjan narrowly escaped an alleged attack while conducting a raid against illegal sand transportation in Cuttack's Baranga area. A Hyva truck allegedly attempted to run over the tehsildar when he tried to stop the vehicle from fleeing the spot.

The incident took place on Thursday night at the Belgachia sand quarry. Acting on information about illegal sand transportation from the quarry, Tushar went to the spot along with his driver and intercepted a sand-laden vehicle.

After some time, the owner of the Hyva truck reached the spot and allegedly abused the tehsildar. He then emptied the sand from the vehicle and reportedly attempted to flee with the truck.
