Bhubaneswar, July 9 -- The Sub-Collector of Bhadrak lodged a police complaint on Thursday against Jahid Habib, the husband of Bhadrak Municipality chairperson, following an alleged altercation during an anti-encroachment drive in the town.

The FIR was lodged at Puruna Bazaar police station after a heated exchange that allegedly took place during the eviction operation.

According to official sources, the district administration has been conducting eviction drives to clear encroachments from government land in Bhadrak for the past two years. On July 7, officials carried out an eviction drive near a pond embankment at Nathasahi.
