Bhubaneswar, May 10 -- The Superintendent of Police suspended two police constables on Sunday following the escape of a rape accused from police custody at Chandbali Court in Odisha's Bhadrak district.

The accused, identified as Debabrata Das, managed to flee from the court premises while being escorted by the police personnel.

According to reports, Debabrata Das was arrested on the basis of a warrant after remaining absconding for nearly seven years. He was being taken to Chandbali Court by two constables from Bansada Police Station when he reportedly escaped from the court verandah.
