Bhubaneswar, Aug. 18 -- The flood situation in Odisha's Bhadrak district has worsened following incessant rain, with the rising waters of the Salandi and Baitarani rivers inundating hundreds of villages across six blocks. Authorities have declared a holiday for all schools and Anganwadi centres in Bhadrak, Bhandaripokhari, Basudevpur, Dhamnagar, Tihidi and Chandbali blocks on Tuesday as a precautionary measure.

Floodwater has entered several areas, disrupting movement and daily life. Around two feet of water is flowing over the road at Solampur in Bhandaripokhari block, making it difficult for people to travel. Two feet of water has also been reported on the Rajamukundapur bridge in Annapal panchayat.
