Berhampur constable levels petrol attack allegation against wife, brother-in-law; investigation launched
Bhubaneswar, June 7 -- Berhampur police constable who sustained severe burn injuries alleged that his wife and brother-in-law poured petrol on him and set him on fire. The allegation was made while he was undergoing treatment in hospital.
Ashutosh Mrudangia, a Motor Vehicle Constable posted at the RTO office in Chatrapur, made the allegations while undergoing treatment. A video of his statement went viral on Sunday.
According to Ashutosh, the incident occurred when he visited the quarters of his wife, Sandhya Nayak, who is serving as a constable in the district police.
In his statement, he alleged that his wife and brother-in-law attacked him and set him ablaze.
