Bhubaneswar, April 24 -- Police intensified the investigation into the abduction and murder of Berhampur-based businessman Sudhir Patra, with a focus on identifying additional individuals involved and establishing the precise motive behind the crime. 

While nine persons have been arrested so far, investigators are examining the possibility of a broader conspiracy, even as questions continue to be raised over the handling of the case.

According to police findings, the murder was carried out over property-related issues.
