Bhubaneswar, April 30 -- Heavy rain that lashed Bengaluru on Wednesday evening led to nine fatalities in three separate incidents across the city. The worst-hit was Shivajinagar, where a portion of the compound wall at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital collapsed, killing seven people and injuring seven others.
The victims were mostly roadside vendors and customers who had taken shelter near the wall during the downpour. Authorities said nearly 30 people were present at the spot when the structure gave way, causing panic and chaos in the area.
According to The Hindu, police identified the deceased as Mohammed Abdul Haq (52), Fayaz Ahmed (39), Musaveer Begum (6), Latha K.K. (57), Smitha (47), M.D. Salauddin Ansari (36), and Nasimulla (19)....
