Bhubaneswar, April 13 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a long-range forecast predicting less rainfall for India this year. According to the IMD's forecast, the monsoon season from June to September is likely to see rainfall levels lower than expected.

This year, India is expected to receive only 92% of its usual rainfall, marking a significant shortfall. Weather experts had earlier shared similar predictions, and the IMD's forecast aligns with these observations, confirming concerns that the country could face below-normal rainfall.
