Bhubaneswar, April 26 -- In a fresh enforcement drive against illegal structures blocking drainage channels, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority on Saturday cleared multiple encroachments in Bhoi Nagar, Unit-9. 

According to sources, the operation led to the demolition of a puja mandap, nine roadside shops and a temporary cabin built over a drain. Authorities also issued a stern warning that further violations would invite legal action.

Officials said the action was carried out following a requisition from the General Administration department regarding unauthorised occupation of land along the drain. An enforcement squad was deployed to the site to remove the structures that had come up on government land.
