Bhubaneswar, Oct. 27 -- Renowned actor Sushil Meher has stepped down from the role of 'Maharaj Kans' for the world-famous Bargarh Dhanu Jatra for 2026-27.

Meher was selected to portray the role of Maharaj Kans for the 2025-26 edition of the festival.

As per the existing practice, a performer selected for the role can continue to portray Kans for three consecutive years.
