Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23 -- To ensure that customers do not face difficulties due to the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike, banks across the country will remain open on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

The decision has been taken in view of the strike call given by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) from September 28 to 30. The three-day strike will come immediately after the weekend holidays on September 26 and 27, which could otherwise affect banking services for several days.

According to the Ministry of Finance, all Public Sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks will function normally on Sunday, September 27. The move has been made to ensure that genuine banking needs of customers are not affected for an extended period.
