Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- A major development has emerged in the murder case of GRP constable Soumyaranjan Swain in Balianta, with six of the 20 arrested accused now released from Jharpada Jail on bail. The Crime Branch has filed a chargesheet against 11 of the 20 accused, while no evidence was found against the remaining nine, whose names do not feature in the chargesheet.

Of those nine, six were granted bail by the court and have since walked out of jail. The development has raised questions over the basis on which those nine people were arrested in the first place.
