Bhubaneswar, May 14 -- OdishaCrime Branch on Thursday arrested the main accused in connection with the sensational murder case reported from the Bhingarpur-Kaja area under Balianta police station limits on May 7.

The CID Crime Branch was entrusted by the Odisha government to investigate the case following the incident that triggered widespread attention across the state.

According to the Crime Branch, the main accused, Chinu alias Ranjit Patra, aged 24 and a resident of Gangeswargada under Sadar police station limits in Cuttack Urban Police District, was arrested on May 14 based on substantial evidence collected during the investigation.
