Balianta murder case: From alleged assault to Crime Branch probe, how the incident unfolded
Bhubaneswar, May 15 -- The mob lynching incident reported from Balianta on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on May 7 triggered outrage, multiple investigations and sharp questions over mob violence and alleged police inaction.
The incident, which led to the death of Government Railway Police (GRP) constable Soumya Ranjan Swain, is currently being investigated by the OdishaCrime Branch after directions from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
