Balasore school resumes classes after 8 days, but classrooms remain submerged
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 25 -- Classes have resumed at a school in Odisha's Balasore District, Bhograi block after nearly eight days, but floodwater from the Subarnarekha river continues to keep three classrooms submerged, forcing students to study in a cramped room on the upper floor.
At the Banamali Majhi Harijan Sahi school, water has accumulated not only inside all three classrooms on the ground floor but also in front of the school. Fish have reportedly been spotted in the stagnant water, while teachers and students are also worried about snakes in and around the premises.
