India, July 24 -- Bahuda Yatra or return car festival of Lord Jagannath and His siblings began on Friday in the afternoon with thousands of devotees first pulling the 'Taladhwaja' chariot of Lord Balabhadra from Gundicha Temple towards the 12th-century Jagannath Temple in Puri.

'Darpadalana' chariot of Goddess Subhadra and 'Nandighosha' chariot of Lord Jagannath will follow thereafter.

Before the pulling of chariots, Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibya Singha Deb performed the 'Chhera Pahanra' ritual of the 'Bahuda Yatra', ceremonially sweeping the Holy Trinity's three chariot platforms.
