Bhubaneswar, June 6 -- A group of 12 armed robbers allegedly looted gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 25 lakh from a house in Odisha's Kendrapara district on Friday evening.

The accused reportedly entered the house armed with deadly weapons and carried out the robbery at gunpoint.

The incident took place at the residence of Dhaneswar Rout in Khandiapatana village under the jurisdiction of Aul police station. The robbers allegedly threatened the occupants and fled with valuables after executing the crime.

According to reports, the miscreants broke open a almirah locker inside the house and fled with gold and silver ornaments. They also allegedly looted cash worth Rs 91,000 during the robbery.
