Another Cyclone coming? Rain likely to dampen Dussehra celebrations in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Oct. 3 -- A fresh weather system is likely to develop over the Bay of Bengal in the middle of October, raising concerns that rain could dampen Dussehra celebrations across Odisha.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday indicated that a cyclonic circulation may form over the Andaman Sea around October 12. The system could subsequently develop into a low-pressure area around October 13 before moving further into the Bay of Bengal.
The possible system could coincide with the festive period, putting Dussehra celebrations under the weather spotlight.
If the system brings widespread or prolonged rain to Odisha, pandal hopping, outdoor cultural programmes, festive shopping and other celebrations could be affected. He...
