Bhubaneswar, April 3 -- In a major development in the ANMmurder case, Bolangir police have revealed that the woman health worker was allegedly killed by her husband, who later attempted to end his own life. The incident took place in Ramchandrapura village under Deogaon police station in Odisha's Bolangir district.
The deceased, identified as Damayanti Barik, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) had been serving for the past twenty years. Police said the accused, identified as her husband Upendra Kalsaye, allegedly assaulted her brutally, leaving her bleeding, before pouring petrol and setting her on fire. During the incident, the flames also spread to his body, and he later reportedly consumed poison.
