Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- The Balasore District Anganwadi Workers' Association on Thursday opposed the government's decision to conduct an annual review of Anganwadi workers aged 55 years and above, including an assessment of their fitness to continue in service.

The association has objected to the provision that allows workers to be disengaged if they are found unable to perform their duties satisfactorily. It has demanded a reconsideration of the guideline and warned of a major agitation if the government does not change its decision.
