Bhubaneswar, April 26 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday strongly condemned the shooting incident at an event attended by US President Donald Trump, asserting that "violence has no place in a democracy." The Prime Minister also expressed relief that Trump and other top leaders were safe following the security scare.

In a post on X, Modi said he was "relieved" to learn that President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and Vice President JD Vance were unharmed after the incident at a Washington DC hotel. He extended his best wishes for their continued safety and emphasised that such acts of violence must be unequivocally condemned.
