Bhubaneswar, July 11 -- Acclaimed Sand artist from Odisha, Sudarsan Pattnaik, on Saturday urged External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to intervene in the controversy surrounding ISKCON's alleged observance of Rath Yatra on a date other than the traditional schedule.

The appeal comes after ISKCON reportedly organised a Rath Yatra in Kenya, drawing objections over the timing of the festival.

According to Pattnaik, the event in Kenya was held on a date that did not coincide with the traditional Rath Yatra observed in Puri. He also pointed out that officials of the Indian Embassy participated in the event, pulled the chariot, and shared posts about it on the embassy's official social media account.
