Bhubaneswar, June 30 -- An absconding life convict, Sajid Khan, who had escaped from Choudwar Jail in Odisha, has been arrested from Amritsar in Punjab after remaining on the run for several years.

As per sources, Khan was convicted in a 2008 murder case involving the killing of a woman and was serving a life sentence. In 2017, he was released on parole but failed to return to prison thereafter, effectively going absconding. Following his continued evasion of law enforcement, a fresh order for his arrest was issued in 2025.
