Bhubaneswar, March 21 -- Seven-year-old Payal Das, a young girl from Gopinathpur village under Ganjam district in Odisha, has known nothing but hardship from the moment she was born. At just two years old, her father abandoned her, leaving her in the care of her mother, who, too, disappeared shortly after. Now, Payal is left to grow up in the dilapidated home of her elderly grandparents, who are struggling with their own declining health.
