Bhubaneswar, July 10 -- The OdishaTransport Department has made Aadhaar authentication mandatory for new vehicle registrations and transfer of ownership as part of a stricter verification process aimed at improving accountability and ensuring vehicles can be traced in cases of accidents and crimes.

Under the revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), applicants seeking vehicle registration or transfer of ownership will have to submit Aadhaar along with valid address proof and other mandatory documents. Officials have been directed to verify all documents thoroughly before approving applications.
