Bhubaneswar, May 21 -- Amid complaints of prolonged unscheduled power cuts during the ongoing spell of heat and humidity, a 76-year-old social worker and lawyer staged a unique protest in Jagatsinghpur district on Thursday. This drew attention to electricity supply issues and the protestors demanded corrective measures from the power utility.
Basudev, a social worker and advocate, dressed in a sari and wearing bangles, marched through the town before staging a dharna in front of the Tata Power office near the bus stand. He said the protest aimed to highlight public grievances over electricity disruptions and to urge authorities to improve the power supply.
