6.2-magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan sends tremors across Delhi-NCR, Jammu & Kashmir
Bhubaneswar, June 27 -- A powerful 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan on Saturday evening, triggering tremors across large parts of northern India, including Delhi-NCR and Jammu & Kashmir, and causing panic among residents.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at around 7:04 PM IST at a depth of 215 kilometres. The epicentre was located in northeastern Afghanistan, in the seismically active Hindu Kush region.
The tremors were felt in several cities across northern India. In Delhi-NCR, many residents reported feeling buildings sway, prompting some to rush out of their homes and offices as a precaution. Similar scenes were reported from various parts of Jammu & Kashmir, including Srinagar...
