Bhubaneswar, Oct. 20 -- Puri Police arrested Madan Dalei, the accused in the alleged murder of his mother, 57 days after the incident came to light. The accused was arrested in Jharkhand by a special police team, official sources said on Tuesday.

Puri SP Prateek Singh shared the information during a press conference. According to the police, the accused had allegedly killed his mother and later plastered the room where the incident took place in an attempt to conceal the crime.

The murder came to light on August 24, following which police launched an investigation to trace the accused. A special team was previously formed as part of the probe, and efforts were intensified to establish his whereabouts.
