Bhubaneswar, April 13 -- Tension gripped Odisha's Dhenkanal district on Monday after three 'danduas' lost their lives due to electrocution, triggering protests by local residents who blocked a key road demanding compensation for the bereaved families.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday at Patala village under Hindol block, where the three victims allegedly came into contact with a live 11 kV electric line, leading to their death on the spot. The tragic mishap has sparked widespread anger among villagers, who have held authorities responsible for negligence.
