200gm gold, assets worth crores unearthed during raid at cattle smuggling kingpin's house in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, June 13 -- A Mayurbhanj-based man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly posing as a social worker and running an illegal interstate cattle smuggling racket. The accused has been identified as Uttam Dandapat, the kingpin of the cattle smuggling in the district.
Police conducted raids at his residence in the Jharpokharia police station area of Odisha's Mayurbhanj district and unearthed assets worth crores of rupees.
During the search operation, police seized around 200 grams of gold, 500 grams of silver, and cash amounting to Rs 1.20 lakh from Dandapat's residence. Officials also discovered landed properties and a massive residential building, whose estimated value is around Rs 2 crore.
