Bhubaneswar, Sept. 30 -- In an unfortunate incident, a 15-year-old Adarsha Vidyalaya student drowned in a quarry pond in Khordha district while he had gone to participate in a district-level sports competition.

According to reports, the deceased student has been identified as Arnab Sahu. He was a resident of Barilo village under Balipatna police station limits.

As per reports, Arnab had travelled to Narangarh to participate in a district-level athletics competition. During his stay there, he reportedly went to bathe in a quarry pond.

However, while taking bathing in the pond, he suddenly drowned in the water.
