Bhubaneswar, May 18 -- Public transport services under Ama Bus were severely disrupted on Monday as employees staged a protest at the Patrapada depot, affecting daily commuters across the city.

Reports stated that 117 buses operating on 45 routes remained off the roads due to the agitation, causing widespread inconvenience. The protest, which began at 4 am, involved drivers, guides, and other staff who alleged that their salaries had not been paid for over two months. No official response has yet been received from Ama Bus authorities.

The employees raised multiple demands, including:

Timely payment of salaries

Provision of EPF and ESI benefits
