Bhubaneswar, Aug. 31 -- Flood-hit farmers in Basudevpur of Odisha's Bhadrak district are struggling to complete paddy registration, with long queues outside service cooperative societies adding to their hardships. Amid heavy rain, many farmers are arriving in the morning and waiting until late at night, leaving their fieldwork behind.

The farmers say the problem has become particularly difficult after four rounds of flooding damaged their paddy crops. Many have had to purchase seedlings from outside the district and return to cultivation, but the registration process is now taking away crucial time from their fields.
